Description
The paper reports the method and main results of investigation on environmental natural penetrating radiation levels in China, which was organized by the National Environmental Protection Agency, and mainly aimed at making certain of the current levels and distribution of environmental terrestrial γ radiation in China. The measuring points were set up uniformly according to 25 x 25 km net grid in the whole country, and do densely around nuclear facilities, radioactive mines as well as other contamination sources. There are 14762 net grid measuring points (among which 8805 points are 25 x 25 km and 50 x 50 km-netted points), 14112 dense measuring points of different types and total 28874 measuring points
