Description
The m=1 kink mode is investigated in the high temperature regime where the width of the singular layer is determinded by the mean ion tyroadius. A dispersion relation is presented theat cintains the full ion dynamics. Thet growth rates are larger than the corresponding ones obtained from fluid theory. Diamagnetic stabilisation is weaker than in the fluid case. Ifη-i is suffinciently large an unstable mode is found for all values of ω*-even at zero resist. (author). 6 refs.; 4 figs
