Description

Using a G-matrix to generate a density-dependent effective NN interaction, we examined the effects of Pauli blocking, nuclear binding, strong relativistic potentials, and modified meson masses on the polarization observables for natural parity states in 28Si and the 4- and 6- unnatural parity transitions in 16O and 28Si. Changing meson masses in accordance with the expectation from partial chiral restoration produced no systematic improvement in the ability to describe the data. copyright 1997 American Institute of Physics
