Effects of several nano-carbon materials on the microstructure and properties of copper

  • 1. School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Jinan, Jinan 250022 (China)

Description

In this paper, copper matrix composites reinforced by nano-carbon materials were fabricated by mechanical alloying followed by cold-pressing. The influences of carbon nano-tubes, graphene, carbon nano-powder, the added content of nano-carbon and milling time on the composite materials were studied with orthogonal experiment method. Ultimately, the results indicate that the combined optimum condition are: additive graphene, added content 0.1 wt.%, milling time 4 h. When the optimum paramenters have been used, the hardness of the sample is 41.17 HB, IACS is 83.62%, the thermal conductivity is 292 W(m · k)−1. (paper)
