Safety problems at nuclear power plants for district heating
Description
The choice of main design principles of reactor plant for a nuclear district heating plant (NDHP) is considered taking into account population safety aspects when constructing a NDHP near big cities. The arrangement and construction providing the protection of the plant from inner damages and outer effects are discussed. Radiation situation is evaluated. A conclusion based analysis results is made that the realization of principles of reactor plant design, flowsheet and lay-out which are necessary due to additional safety requirements provides the safety of population in big cities when a NDHP is located in immediate proximity to appartment block area
