Prospects for homogeneous warm liquid calorimetry
Description
Calorimeters to be used either for the detection of rare processes or for the containment of very large energies at high rates put demands on presently existing techniques that stretch the practical feasibility criteria. We point out that a renewed attempt at developing a homogeneous, geometrically adaptable calorimeter medium may well be indicated. Room-temperature heavy liquids are candidates for an appropriate medium. A development project is sketched out. (orig.)
