Description
The linear accelerator of the China Academy of Engineering Physics THz Free-electron Laser Facility (CTFEL) consists of two 4-cell superconducting accelerating cavities. The excitation of each accelerating cavity is provided by a set of L-band microwave power source (25 kW) based on an inductive output tube (IOT) amplifier. The basic principle, composition structure and debugging process of the microwave power sources were mainly presented in this paper. And some experimental results of the microwave power sources applying on the power coupler conditioning platform and superconducting linear accelerator were also introduced. The microwave power sources work stably after installation and commissioning, and the main parameters of the two sets of microwave power sources meet the design requirements. The amplitude stability and phase stability of the superconducting linear accelerator reach 0.04% and 0.08°, respectively, which are better than the design targets. (authors)
