Performance evaluation of two models of well type ionization chambers used in LDR brachytherapy

Description

In this work, the performance of two models of well type ionization chambers of Capintec was evaluated and compared. Several tests (constancy, response linearity, reading position and variation in the applied tension to the system) were applied to these two ionization chambers. The results obtained were compared, and both chambers presented behaviors within the recommended international limits. The advantage of the model CRC-15BT supplying the reading in air kerma can be compensated in model CRC-15R by using a calibration factor. (author)
