Environmental dose equivalent in the areas of final deposit of Césium-137 radioactive wastes in the city of Abadia de Goiás, GO, Brazil

The Central-West Regional Center for Nuclear Sciences, CRCN-CO, has the mission to carry out institutional control of the center, and activities to be developed such as the Environmental Monitoring Program (PMA) of the areas of Telma Ortegal State Park, which houses the Deposit End of waste from the radiological accident in Goiânia, with ¹³⁷Cs, in the city of Abadia de Goiás, located 2 kilometers from the deposit area. This work presents the results of the Environmental Monitoring Program of the radioactive waste repository of the Abbey of Goiás, by the Regional Center for Nuclear Sciences (CRCN-CO) of the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN), from 2018 to 2019, with the results of the environmental monitoring using thermoluminescent detectors (TLD), at 10 points in the park, from 2008 to 2019. The annual effective dose obtained from the analysis of these results was less than 0.3 mSv/year, not exceeding the limit established by CNEN for environmental impact on individuals in the public.
