Effective action in many-dimensional gauge supergravities and spontaneous compactification
Description
An off-shell effective action (EA) is obtained for d=5, N=2, 8 gauge supergravities on the gravitational background R4xS1 (where R4 and S1 are 4-dimensional flat space and one-dimensional sphere) with constant scalar field. The structure of the EA gauge dependence is studied. EA is as well found for d=4, N=4 gauge supergravities on the space with nontrivial topology R3xS1. Possibility of spontaneous compactification induced by quantum effects in d=5 gauge supergravities is discussed
