The effect of the operation of a subsurface gas storage established in a water drive reservoir upon the ultimate recovery of the reservoir

Description

The described work was aimed at assisting to choose a water drive gas reservoir which could be converted into subsurface gas storage in the most economic way. The investigations were done with the computer model, using the material balance principle of one of the biggest Hungarian gas fields. The final recovery of the cushion gas from a water-drive gas reservoir and a gas storage, respectively, was determined by the production rate, the parameters of water body, and the abandonment pressure as well as the rock- and fluid parameters. The conclusion was made that operation pressure range of the gas storage and the injection-production rates do not influence significantly the final recovery determined by the parameters mentioned above. 5 refs, 11 figs
