Thermoluminescence dosimetry in radiotherapy

Creators

Description

Thermoluminescence dosimetry is now widely used in radiotherapy. Examples of clinical applications developed in the last 5 years in Lausanne, are presented. The principle of thermoluminescence and its dosimetric characteristics are described. The problems specific to the use in a pion beam, like nuclear interaction of the radiation with the dosimeter and LET-spectrum, are outlined. A three-steps program of measurement is proposed. Abstract (German)

(orig.)
