Description

The Lep ( Large electron-Positron Collider), the biggest particles accelerator in the world, has been operating at the CERN (European laboratory for physics of particles), near Geneva, for now more than eight years. It allows to the physicists to put to the tests in detail the standard model of physics of particles and to search after new eventual particles, expected or not by the theory. the quantity and the quality of results produced by the experiments next to the Lep, that go over the hopes, the excellent functioning of the accelerator and its detectors crowns more than thirty years of theoretical works and practice in physics of particles in Europe.
