Industrial long term radioactive waste management in France
Description
Long-term industrial management of radioactive waste in France is carried out by the Agence Nationale pour la Gestion des Dechets Radioactifs (ANDRA). ANDRA is charged with design, siting, construction and operation of disposal centers. The French national program for waste management is continuing on with the construction of a second near surface disposal which is expected to be in operation in 1991 and the selection of a site for the construction of an underground laboratory for the qualification of this site for deep disposal
