Structure functions and σn/σp measured in 465 GeV/c muon-nucleon interactions

Description

Preliminary results on the measurement of the cross-section ratio σn/σp in inelastic μp and μd scattering are presented. The cross-section ratio σn/σp is presented as a function of xBj. This ratio is determined using three different techniques and is measured with high precision for xBj > 10-6. This extends the knowledge of σn/σp to much lower xBj with smaller statistical uncertainties than previous results. First measurements of Fp2(x,Q2) and Fd2(x,Q2) from experiment E665 are also presented in the range xBj > 8 x 10-4 and Q2 > 0.2 GeV2/c2. This extends the kinematic range in which F2 is measured
