Description
This paper was presented at the First IAEA Workshop on Challenges for Coolants in Fast Neutron Spectrum Systems, 5–7 July 2017, IAEA Headquarters, Vienna, Austria. Applications of mixed fluoride molten salts such as Flibe (0.67LiF+0.33BeF2, Li2BeF4) or Flinabe (xLiF+yNaF+(1-x-y) BeF2) to fusion reactor blankets under high-energy neutron flux are proposed and several R&D issues are discussed here.
