Investigation into monocrystals of zirconium and niobium carbides prepared by crucibleless zone melting
Description
Investigated is the distribution of the main components and impurities in ZrC and NbC monocrystalline rods, prepared by crucibleless zope melting. Zones of monocrystals without visible defects (pores, inclusions and parasitic grains) are characterized by uniform distribution of the main components and impurities. Impurity content is essentially higher in the structure defects and on the block boundaries
