Description

On the basis of critical analysis and statistical treatment of literature data on thermodynamic properties of oxides FeO, NiO and CoO, the values of ΔHsub(O2)sup(0), ΔSsub(O2)sup(0) and the dependences ΔGsub(O2)sup(0)(T) with corresponding errors have been calculated in the range 1000-1400 K. For oxides NbO, Cu2O and CuO, for which the literature data are not reliable enough, the above thermodynamic functions are determined experimentally by the solid electrolyte e.m.f. method. A mixture Nb+NbO has been used as a reference electrode with a thorium dioxide base solid electrolyte to determine the thermodynamic properties of NbO. A convenient method of combination of the dependences ΔGsub(O2)sup(0)(T)+-sigma(T) for different electrodes is proposed which can be used in the course of treatment of experimental data obtained by the e.m.f. method
