Description

The author presents minimal model of neutrino masses within a technicolor framework. The model involves a nontrivial family structure among four families. The four flavors of left-handed Weyl neutrinos pair up and obtain two Dirac masses. It is attractive to associate the lighter Dirac neutrino, which is a combination of the e and μ neutrinos, with the ITEP ∼ 30 eV neutrino. The heavier neutrino is predicted to be ∼ mτ/me times heavier and thus lies in the KeV to MeV range. There are normally several problems associated with having a neutrino in this mass range. So the author shows how these problems can be avoided quite naturally in a technicolor context, thus making the existence of heavy neutrino more plausible. (Auth.)
