Description

A quantitative passive technique for the assay of near-surface tritium in materials is described. The method uses a channel electron multiplier (CEM) and Monte Carlo calculations of the energy-angle escape distributions for beta electrons. Comparisons between the experimental and calculated values of the CEM count rate are presented. (U.K.)
