Half-life determination with high counting rate and half-lives of sup(202m)Pb and 201Pb
Description
The half-lives of sup(202m)Pb and 201Pb were measured with a Ge(Li) detector with a very high counting rate and a deadtime of approximately 30%. The counting losses through the deadtime were corrected by taking both extendable and non-extendable deadtimes into consideration. A correction formula is given, with quantities determined experimentally, namely live time and true time of start and end of each counting run. Half-lives of 3.53+-0.01 h and 9.33+-0.03 h were obtained for sup(202m)Pb and 201Pb, respectively. (author)
