Surfactants in polarographic analysis Pt: 2

  • 1. Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing (China)

Description

In the supporting electrolyte of 0.04 M NH4Cl, a very sensitive adsorptive complex wave of samarium-cupferron-polyethyleneglycol octylphenylester (OP)-ammonium chloride has been obtained by using single-sweep oscillopolarograph. The derivative wave height is proportional to the concentration of Sm3+ in the range of 6.6 x 10-9 M-6.6 x 10-8 M. The optimum analytical conditions are 0.04 M NH4Cl-0.004% cupferron-0.0056% OP and pH4.4. The interference of diverse ions are separated from samarium with extraction and chromatograph. This method has been applied to determine trace samarium in ores, and satisfactory results have been obtained
