Description

The contributions to the main topic deal with the draft of ICRU und ICRP on new quantities in radiation protection. The ''Draft Joint Report of ICRU and ICRP for Consultation: Operational Quantities for External Radiation Exposure'' is published on the internet and was open to public comment until early November 2017. Shortly after this consultation period, the theoretical basis for the proposal is only just known and so far there is no (practical) experience on the feasibility of the new concept. The contributions collected here provide first insights into the basics of the proposed new quantities as well as comments on the ICRU/ICRP draft. All contributions show that the proposal on the new quantities is a very complex issue. It will be a subject of discussion in the future.
