Patent
Method to avoid deposition of radioactive corrosion products on surfaces outside the reactor core in a nuclear plant
Description
Metal ions are added to the reactor water or feedwater at a nuclear power plant, in the form of easily soluble metal salt with an anion that can be transformed to gaseous products and water. The solution is de-gassed before it is added to the reactor water. The additive will suppress the formation of soluble corrosion products and stimulate formation of insoluble compounds like spinels
