Surface stresses, tension and energy of small particles

The autor made a survey of experiments on γ and Σ determination from the evaporation rate in vacuum and from the parameters change of a small particles lattice. The erroneous notion on the lattice parameters with diameter D > 100 A is revealed. Consideration is given to the ambiguous character of vattice parameters contraction in particles with D < 100 A. This effect is due to the particles structural transition into cluster isomers differing from the initial lattice in symmetry elements
