Development of a management protocol for the reduction of fuel consumption and decreasing of the emanations of CO2 as contaminant of environment in air service companies
Description
A management protocol is developed for air services companies to improve the eco-efficiency of its processes. The application of operational procedures have allowed the reduction of fuel consumption and decreased the emanations of CO2 into the environment. The methodology of the research has consisted in quantitative and qualitative analysis of the variables and processes that have influenced significantly in the operation of airline fleet. An integral analysis is realized of the procedures of management and use of resources in the cockpits of the aircraft (Cockpit Resource Management) and navigation based in performance (NBP). The results of analysis are used to elaborate a protocol to minimize the fuel consumption and energy through the application of practices and operational procedures more efficient and safe. The environmental burdens associated with the services that are provided in the airline industry are minimized. The application of methods of improvement and procedures that are updated continuously have achieved the sustainability of the protocol. The operational procedures are applied to decrease the fuel consumption. Sensitization programs are developed for the utilization of more efficient operational practices and friendly with the environment. An incentive program is implemented to optimize the fuel consumption safely by pilots. A new procedure of flight scheduling is modified based on performance of the pilots and fleet degradation factors, assigning the pilots who have had higher consumption to airplanes with lower degradation, and the pilots who have had lower consumption, to airplanes with higher degradation. A self-liquidating incentive plan is developed based on the savings achieved in the operation in high-performance, could reinforce the change of attitude necessary for the group of pilots can support the implementation of the protocol

Un protocolo de gestion es desarrollado para las empresas de servicios aereos para mejorar la eco-eficiencia de sus procesos. La aplicacion de procedimientos operacionales han permitido la reduccion del consumo de combustible y la disminucion de las emanaciones de CO2 al ambiente. La metodologia de la investigacion ha consistido en el analisis cuantitativo y cualitativo de las variables y procesos que han influido significativamente en la operacion de la flota de las aerolineas. Un analisis integral es realizado de los procedimientos de administracion y aprovechamiento de recursos en las cabinas de mando de las aeronaves (Cockpit Resource Management) y de la navegacion basada en desempeno (NBD). Los resultados del analisis son utilizados para elaborar un protocolo para minimizar el consumo de combustible y energia mediante la aplicacion de practicas y procedimientos operacionales mas eficientes y seguros. Las cargas ambientales asociadas con los servicios que son brindados en la industria aerea son minimizados. La aplicacion de metodos de mejora y procedimientos que son actualizados continuamente han logrado la sostenibilidad del protocolo. Los procedimientos operacionales son aplicados para disminuir el consumo de combustible. Programas de sensibilizacion son desarrollados para la utilizacion de practicas operacionales mas eficientes y amigables con el ambiente. Un programa de incentivos es implementado para optimizar el consumo de combustible en forma segura por los pilotos. Un nuevo procedimiento de programacion de vuelos es modificado con base en el desempeno de los pilotos y los factores de degradacion de la flota, asignando los pilotos que han tenido mayor consumo a los aviones con menor degradacion, y los pilotos que han tenido menor consumo, a los aviones con mayor degradacion. Un plan de incentivos auto liquidable es desarrollado con base en las economias obtenidas en la operacion en alto desempeno, podria reforzar el cambio de actitud necesario para que el grupo de pilotos puedan apoyar la implementacion del protocoloAdditional details
