Influence of external electric field on vanadium surface diffusion in tungsten

  • 1. Inst. Fiziki Sankt-Peterburgskogo Gosudarstvennogo Univ., Sankt-Petrburg (Russian Federation)

Description

In a field emission microscope an experimental study was made into the influence of external electric field on surface diffusion of adsorbed vanadium particles in tungsten. The source of an adsorbed element is a vanadium specimen located in a direct heated coil of a tungsten-rhenium alloy. The measurements were performed in the temperature range of 700-850 K at various intensities of external field. The activation energy of surface diffusion is determined
