Full text: The recovery and recycling of polymeric materials have gone priority targets to be considered in the waste management policy, this may cause energy economy, creating jobs and increasing the life of landfills. The National Policy on Solid Waste - Law 12,305, August 2010 - establishing a shared responsibility for the life cycle of products covering manufacturers, importers, distributors and traders, consumers and those responsible for public urban cleaning services and management solid waste. Among the obligations of that shared responsibility is the structuring and implementation of payment systems, reuse, recycling and disposal of electronic products after use by the consumer. Among the polymeric residue, high density polyethylene (HDPE) is a material with larger volume proportion in municipal solid waste. In this work we were prepared polymer composite based on recycled and virgin HDPE, using toner waste and its components: magnetite and carbon black. The materials were characterized with the following techniques: X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
