Research and development program of the European Communities in the field of energy. Pt. 1

In part 1 of the programme, a) the energy saving as well as b) the production and use of hydrogen are dealt with. For the community, the energy losses in the conversion of primary energy into useful energy as well as the end consumption is estimated to be about 54% of the total need. Priority projects of the hydrogen production are the multistage thermodynamic water decomposition process (thermolysis) with the help of high temperature nuclear reactors, and the water electrolysis. Furthermore, a survey on the proposed financing and breakdown of the means during the time period from 1975 to 1978 are given and the schedule of the RD programme 'Energy for Europe' in the time period of 1974 to 1980 is presented.
