Diversity assessment method and its application in nuclear power plant I&C systems

Description
A kind of semi-quantitative method of diversity assessment is proposed, in order to avoid or mitigate software common cause failure of digital I&C systems in nuclear power plant. This method bases on nuclear station operation experiences, allocates effectiveness weight to each diversity attribute and its criterion, develops a diversity assessment tool. This method can be used to assess diversity of I&C systems in nuclear power plant by which design vulnerabilities can be found earlier and make modification. (authors)
