Heterotic quantum dots: a clean region surrounded by a dirty region

Description

An electronic system in which wavy electrons in a clean region are surrounded by localized electrons in a dirty region, is considered as artificial atom. Near the edge of the clean region, we found strong enhancement of the deviation in the degree of localization, which is a sign of the heterotic phase of an Anderson insulator and wavy electrons. A heterotic localized-extended transition occurs when the clean area of the dot changes, as is suggested by the spectral statistics
