Evaluation of fuel performance in reactor (PWR), 4. Transient behavior after happening of cladding defect
Description
Continued from the report (III), transient phenomena of iodine concentrations in primary coolant which appeared after sudden opening of hair crack on fuel cladding under constant power state are all analyzed. From these analyses it is understood that the information on every state of cladding defect are given by observed iodine concentrations 131I and 133I. But the direct ejection of fuel uranium by fission fragments and knock-out phenomena to primary coolant which may occur under the most unfavorable condition, are all excluded from this paper. Observations of iodine concentrations in primary coolant in every 12 h or 24 h, or even every 48 h under power state are very convenient to catch information of cladding defects. (author)

本報ではまず、ほぼ一定出力運転中に燃料被覆のいずれかにhaircrackが出来た瞬間、その大きさと数、さらにその進展状況を検出する方法を示す。haircrackが異常に拡大するとか、被覆の局部が摩耗欠損するとかして、いわゆるejection等によってUが直接水中に出たり、またそれに伴ってknockoutとか、ペレット表面からの反跳成分等が直接1次冷却水中に出て来るような現象については次に譲る。第III報におけるように、崩壊核種の1次冷却水への漏出は、燃料ペレット中の実効拡散率ν1i(s-1)と被覆欠陥部から1次冷却水中への逸出率ν2i(s-1)で表わされるとした場合に、ν1iは一定としても、いま突然に被覆に欠陥が生じてν2iがゼロからある値になったとき、それによって1次冷却水中の各ヨウ素濃度がどう変るか、したがって逆にヨウ素濃度の時間変化から欠陥の内容を明らかにする方法について述べる。 (日本)Additional details
