On the space density of Arakelian galaxies

Description
Using the method of Arakelian and the method for H=75 km/s Mpc, the luminosity function for galaxies with high surface brighthess (Arakelian galaxies) is obtained. Red shift data for 284 objects in the list (or approx. 45% of all AKG) are used. It is shown that for -16SUP(m)>MSUB(z)>-20SUB(m) the Arakelian galaxies are approx. 2% of the field galaxies, whereas for MSUB(z)=-23SUP(m) 50% of the field galaxies are Arakelian galaxies
