Superconducting current limiter to an adjustable assigned value

Description

This superconducting current limiter is made of a superconducting coil submitted to a magnetic field whose value determines the transition temperature. The superconductive coil has a negligible inductance value, an a resistance of several hundreds ohms in resistive mode. The magnetic field may be provided either by a permanent magnet or a control coil (superconductive or not). (D.L.). 3 refs., 6 figs
