Description

TOFTOF is a direct-geometry multi-disc chopper time-of-flight spectrometer, installed at the neutron source Heinz Maier-Leibnitz FRM II. For further studies of magnetic systems and for investigation of samples under extreme conditions (high-pressure cells, electromagnetic and electrostatic levitator devices, magnetic fields) Monte Carlo simulations were performed for focusing the neutron beam and increasing the neutron flux. The gains in flux as well as the expected profile of the beam resulting from the simulations are presented.
