Superconductivity and quark confinement: magnetic and electric order
Creators
- 1. Center for Theoretical Physics, Laboratory for Nuclear Science and Nuclear Physics, M.I.T., Cambridge, MA
Description
The author outlines a dynamical basis of magnetic order in superconductivity and, in turn, considers an electric order, or quark confinement, in quantum chromodynamics (QCD), under the Wilson criterion. A table provides the categories to which QCD may belong, and the author explores the electric flux created by the Wilson operator, A(C), within each category. Parallels between pure QCD and superconductivity are outlined
