Contribution of the radiation-heterogenous processes on the hydrogen safety of the nuclear power station
Description
In the present article the experimental results of hydrogen accumulation research and oxidation methods by radiation and radiation-thermal heterogenous processes at the zirconium, Zr alloy with 1 % Nb stainless steel contact with water has been given. A reactor zirconium with ∼99.9 % purity, Zr alloy with 1 % Nb and stainless steel Xamamina were used as the research objects. Radiation and radiation-thermal processes were carried out at the 60Co isotope source of gamma-radiation with the accuracy temperature being ±1 K. Chemical dosemeters, such as ferrosulfate, cyclohexane and methane were used for dosimetry of source. It is determined, that during radiation-heterogenous process in reactor materials and H2O systems, metal surface oxidation and water radiolysis products accumulation occur in contacting medium. An important contribution to this process makes the secondary electron radiation from metals, active surface states and radiation-catalytic action of metal surface oxide spots in the water decomposition
