Studies on the spectra of conversion electrons emitted in the reaction ¹⁴⁹Sm(n, γ)¹⁵⁰Sm

The paper presents the results of studies on the spectrum of conversion electrons of samarium-150 emitted after thermal neutron capture in the reaction ¹⁴⁹Sm(n, γ) ¹⁵⁰Sm. The measurement was carried out using a beta spectrograph with a homogeneous magnetic field and broad electron beam focussing. The spectrum of the internal conversion electrons was measured by the photographic method. Besides the known lines observed and reported previously by such authors as Groshev et al. and Egidy et al. in the spectrum of the samarium-150 nuclide in the comparable energy range covered by the present studies, a number of new lines, particularly in the soft region of the spectrum, are reported in the present paper. The work was carried out in collaboration with Dr. P. T. Prokofiev at the IRT-2000 research reactor of the Institute of Physics, Latvian Academy of Sciences, Riga, in 1966. (author)
