Light antiproton atoms and quasinuclear mesons

Description

Properties of antipp and antipd atoms formed in liquid hydrogen and deuterium are investigated. Various mechanisms of absorption of antiprotons from atomic states are discussed. Relation of parameters of the antiprotonic cascade to widths, binding energies, radii and quantum numbers of the quasinuclear mesons is established. It is shown that existence of the NantiN states of quasinuclear type enables one to explain the detected ''anomalies'' in annihilation of stopped antiprotons in liquid hydrogen and deuterium
