Decay-lepton distribution of high qT gauge bosons at NLO in hadronic collisions
Description
The parity conserving part of the angular distribution are calculated for dileptons arising from the decay of high-qT gauge bosons (W,Z,γ*) produced in hadronic collisions in next-to-leading (NLO) order of perturbative QCD. It is shown that the general structure of the decay lepton distribution is controlled by nine helicity structure functions. A brief outline is given on the complete O(αs2) calculation of these structure functions. Numerical results are presented for W+ production at the Tevatron collider including all the subprocesses up to O(αs2). The results are given both in the Gottfried-Jackson and the Collins-Soper frame. (author) 9 refs., 3 figs
