Electroproduction of π0 mesons on nuclei in deep inelastic region
Description
The proposed project is a part of experimental program of Yerevan Physics Institute for the investigation of mechanisms of virtual photon absorption and hadronization of quarks in nuclear media in the processes of deep inelastic scattering of electrons with energies up to 4.5 GeV. In this project the possibility for the study of reaction (e, e'π0) with a view of obtaining the information about space-time structure of quark hadronization process as well as the dependence of characteristics of hadron formation process on kinematical variables of the virtual photon (ν, Q2) and of the detected hadron (Z=Eh/ν) are discussed. The characteristics of experimental set-up and also the results of computer simulation of the experiment are given. 27 refs.; 12 figs
