Achieving higher count rates with EDX

Description

An automated energy-dispersive x-ray spectrometer (EDX) was developed for the close-coupled analysis of mixed U, Pu oxide fuel pellets. (Close-coupled means the analytical glove box is closely adjacent to the production line.) The L α fluorescences of U and Pu were chosen. The advantages and disadvantages of the system are given
