Resonator stability effects in ''quadratic-duct'' nuclear-reactor-pumped lasers
Description
In some experiments involving reactor pumping of atomic xenon, lasing intensity has been observed to change abruptly well before the peak of the pumping pulse. Recent advances in gasdynamic modeling and laser resonator stability theory have shown that resonator stability transitions caused by gasdynamically induced refractive index gradients are responsible for some of these observed intensity fluctuations. 11 refs., 12 figs
