Method and apparatus for stabilizing the gain of a radiation detector
Creators
Description
The gain of a radiation detector in a well logging device is stabilized to give more accurate results. The movements of a known reference peak in the spectrum, generated by a gamma-ray, low-intensity source close to the scintillator, are detected and corrected by acting on the level of the high voltage supply of the photomultiplier or the gain of the radiation detector. Large deviations in the gain of the detector are corrected much faster than small deviations
