Donor-acceptor interactions in polymer-low-molecular compound systems

Description

Experimental and theoretical studies of interactions of synthetic macromolecules with various low-molecular compounds (iodine, boric acid), proceeding with formation of molecular complexes and adducts, are generalized in the review. Polymer complexes with hydrogen bond and complexes with charge transport are described. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-borates (boric acid) systems are considered. It is shown that sorbents on PVA base are the most effective boron sorbents during its extraction from natural waters and brines. 218 refs.; 22 figs.; 9 tabs
