The DF-4 analysis using SCDAP/RELAP5
Description
The SCDAP/RELAP5 code was used to analyze the Debris Formation Experiment (DF-4) boiling water reactor (BWR) heat-up and meltdown experiment performed in the Annular Core Research Reactor at Sandia National Laboratory. The analysis using SCDAP/RELAP5 served several purposes: (a) to validate the BWR models contained in the code using experimental data, (b) to identify areas in the code where additional modeling is needed, and (c) to understand the mechanisms of core heat-up and damage progression in a BWR core meltdown
