Radiolytic gas generation during normal and accident situations in PHWRs
Description
Since the earlier accident at Three Mile Island and the recent one at Chernobyl, hydrogen and oxygen generation in rectors both under normal and accident situations has assumed importance. While there are other sources of hydrogen during an accident, oxygen availability for a possible explosion can occur only through radiolysis or air ingress. This paper discusses generation of oxygen and hydrogen due to radiolysis in PHWRs. (author). 3 tables, 7 refs
