Large internal barrier layer capacitance (IBLC) observed in potassium and titanium doped nickel oxide due to grain boundary effect

Description
Monovalent ion (MOI) doping effect on the grain size and giant dielectric constant (ε' ∼ 104) of NiO - based (KxTi0.02Ni0.98-xO (KTNO, x = 0.04, 0.25, and 0.30) type ceramics have been investigated. Increasing K concentration (MOI) enhances the grain size as well as ε' values. Such strong grain size dependence of ε' indicates that large internal barrier layer capacitance in KTNO is due to grain boundary effect. (author)
