Disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis: a rare disease
Description
Disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis is a rare disorder that consists of the proliferation, generally bening, of subperitoneal smooth muscle. According to the literature, to date it has only been associated with ascites in cases of malignant degeneration. We present the computerized tomography findings associated with a bening lesion that presented as a pelvic mass accompanied by ascites, mimicking an ovarian neoplasm, which led to the performance of pelvic surgery.
