Evaluating influence of selected characteristics on landslides in studied area of Kremnica mountains, Zvolenska basin and Polana

Description

Article deals with spatial aspects of landslides and selected physical geography factors of environment in area of central Slovak neovulcanites (Kremnicke vrchy and Polana) and neogene basin (Zvolenska kotlina). The focus is on lithology, georelief and selected tectonics parameters: distance to faults and distance to neotectonic faults. Elevation, slope degree, the length of slope and aspects (parameters derived from digital elevation model) rank among the evaluated parameters of georelief. The aim of this article is to find, respectively select, the best parameters for creation of landslide susceptibility maps using geographic information systems software in the specific area of Middle Slovakian neovolcanics.
